Great Ocean Road

Beginning at Torquay, 95km south west of Melbourne the Great Ocean Road winds its way along the  stunning coastline of Victoria's south-west. The Great Ocean Road is recognised as one of the world's most scenic coastal drives.  The Great Ocean Road stretches for over 300 kilometres, from Torquay to Warrnambool.

The first stretch of the Great Ocean Road winds its way through coastal tourist towns such as Torquay, Jan Juc, Anglesea, Aireys Inlet, Lorne and Apollo Bay.  These picturesque coastal townships offer a range of great facilities, accommodation and attractions including great surfing and swimming beaches. South of Anglesea and through Lorne and Apollo Bay the road hugs the coast offering the traveler scenic views from ocean views across Bass Straight and beautiful forest and mountain views to the hinterland.  The Great Ocean Road includes a long stretch along and through the Otway Ranges from Anglesea to Cape Otway.  Features include beautiful forest drives, trails, waterfalls, walking tracks and picnic spots.  The Great Ocean Road heads inland beyond Apollo Bay as it winds its way through the Cape Otway rainforests.

Beyond Cape Otway, the Great Ocean Road again hugs the coastline along the length of the Port Campbell National Park. This world famous stretch provides the traveler with a range of dramatic coastal scenery.  Along this stretch of the Great Ocean Road are the world renowned rugged coastal tourist spots including Loch Ard Gorge, The Twelve Apostles and London Bridge with unforgettable rock features rising from the waters of the southern ocean and carved by the sea.

Port Campbell offers a great location to stop with great cafes, accommodation and a beautiful protected inlet.  The Great Ocean Road then leads the traveler through Peterborough and onto Warnambool.
